Extreme Volleyball

Extreme Volleyball puts a hazardous twist on a familiar sport: instead of a ball, robot players pass a bomb across the court. The aim is to make the bomb explode on the opponent’s side. Because it can detonate when it hits the ground, after more than three contacts, or when its fuse runs out, each exchange calls for quick movement and attention to timing.

How Extreme Volleyball works

Players control robots and try to keep the bomb in play while directing it toward the other side of the court. The round’s outcome depends on where the bomb explodes. If it detonates in the opponent’s territory, the objective is achieved; if it lands on your side or the fuse expires before you send it across, the result may go against you.

The contact limit adds another constraint. Keep track of how many times the bomb has been touched, since it explodes after more than three contacts. Avoid unnecessary returns and focus on moving the bomb over the court before the fuse runs out.

Extreme Volleyball settings

The settings menu lets you adjust several parts of a game. Options include the number of bombs, the fuse’s burn time, the difficulty level, and your robot’s position. These choices can change how much time you have to react and how challenging it is to control the action.

  • Number of bombs: Choose how many bombs are used in the game.
  • Fuse time: Set how long the fuse burns. A shorter time leaves less time to return the bomb.
  • Difficulty: Select the challenge level that suits your ability.
  • Robot position: Choose where your robot starts or is placed.

If you are learning the controls, start with a difficulty level that gives you room to understand the movement and timing. You can then adjust the settings to make later rounds more demanding.

Controls and practical tips

The listed controls are straightforward: use the left and right arrow keys to move, and press the up arrow or space bar to bounce. Since both up and space are assigned to bouncing, use whichever key is more comfortable on your keyboard.

  • Left: Move left.
  • Right: Move right.
  • Up or Space: Bounce.

Pay attention to the bomb’s position and remaining fuse time rather than moving without a plan. Move into a useful position before bouncing, and remember the contact limit during longer exchanges. If the robot does not respond as expected, check the game’s current control instructions and settings.

What to remember

Extreme Volleyball combines robot movement, a ticking fuse, and a limited number of contacts. To play effectively, learn the movement keys, watch where the bomb is headed, and consider how the fuse and difficulty settings affect each round. The central goal stays the same: get the bomb to explode on the opponent’s side.
