Nubiks build a defense vs zombies

Nubiks zombie defense is a building and survival game where players construct fortifications and try to withstand waves of enemies. It can be played solo, but the experience is designed with two-player action at its center. Understanding the available modes, enemy types, and controls can help players get started and make better use of their time in each match.

Nubiks zombie defense: gameplay and modes

Building is a key part of surviving. The game provides 10 blocks that players can use to create defenses. Since enemy waves put those structures to the test, consider how your fortifications can help you hold your position, and keep the build controls in mind before a match begins.

There are five modes:

  • Two players against zombies
  • Two players against phantoms
  • One player against zombies
  • A mode against extraterrestrials
  • A sandbox mode

The two-player options make it possible to play alongside a friend, while the solo mode offers a way to face zombies alone. The sandbox mode is a separate option from the enemy-based challenges. Check the mode selection before starting so you know which opponents and play style to expect.

Enemies to prepare for

Different creatures bring different threats to a round. Regular zombies advance as common enemies, while bomber zombies and shooter zombies add other kinds of danger. Phantoms can fly, so they may approach from above. The alien fires very rapidly, making it a distinct opponent in the extraterrestrial mode.

Because enemy types vary, pay attention to what appears during play instead of assuming every wave will behave the same way. In particular, keep an eye on flying phantoms and the rapidly firing alien, and use the building phase to prepare your defenses.

PC and mobile controls

On PC, the blue player uses the arrow keys to move, with the down arrow assigned to building. The red player moves with W, A, and D, and uses S to build. Both players can double jump, which adds another movement option during play.

On mobile devices, controls are handled with on-screen buttons. Before beginning a match, take a moment to identify the movement and building buttons on your device. This can make it easier to switch between moving and constructing when enemies approach.

Getting started

For a first round, choose a mode that suits the number of players, then review the controls and available blocks. If playing with someone else, agree on who will focus on movement and building so you can coordinate. Solo players can begin with the zombie mode to learn the basic survival loop before trying the other enemy types.

In short, Nubiks zombie defense combines fortification building with survival challenges across five modes. Knowing which enemies appear, how the 10 blocks fit into your approach, and how to build on your chosen device will help you prepare for each round.
